Chrysanthemum pacificum (Shodoshima isogiku)
Chrysanthemum pacificum (Shodoshima isogiku)
This silver and gold chrysanthemum variety is a wild chrysanthemum said to be native to Shodoshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. It grows in unique environments such as on seaside cliffs and in rocky areas. The plant produces smaller leaves and flowers than the common silver and gold chrysanthemums, and has thick leaves with dense white hairs that cover the underside all the way to the tip, giving the leaves a white edge at the top.
Although it can be grown on its own, it is also ideal when planted in pots with other sanyaso wildflowers.
