Otatsunami-so prefer full sun.

The plants produce their most beautiful flowers when grown in full direct sunlight.

The soil should be well-drained and rich. Poorly draining soil can cause root rot.

It is important to not water too much so as to keep the soil slightly dry. However, water generously when the topsoil becomes dry.

After flowering, cut back the flower stalks, to allow the plant to store energy for the next flowering season.
