Ardisia japonica (Marlberry,chirimen yabukoji)

This species has uniquely slender leaves with finely and deeply indented veins. These characteristics give the leaves a distinctive crepe-like appearance, as suggested by its Japanese common name,chirimen yabukoji (meaning “crepe marlberry”).
