Epipactis thunbergii (Thunberg's helleborine, kaki-ran)
¥1,400 (incl. tax)
Thunberg's helleborine is a perennial that grows wild in moist places such as sunny wetlands and along the mountain streams.
In Japan, it is called kaki-ran, a name derived from its yellow-brown flowers which are similar in color to persimmons.
Although its stems die back to the ground, its rhizomes overwinter in the soil and produce new buds in early spring.
(Currently delivered as rhizomes, which are just about to sprout.)
