Gosho Nishiki (meaning “Imperial Palace brocade”) is a variety said to have been developed from a wild chrysanthemum that grew by Daikaku-ji Temple’s Osawa no Ike Pond in Kyoto during the reign of Emperor Saga in the 8th century.

Produces yellow flowers that turn orange.
