Hakonechloa macra var. aureola (Ogon fuchi-so)

A perennial that is found on mountain cliffs and ridges on Japan’s main island.
The species is endemic to areas on the Pacific side of the island.
Its many stems bend downward, creating a cascading appearance, and each one bears a few narrow leaves about 15 cm long.
